Painting progress by numbers

Time for a '100% painted' update. As you may recall, I had made the goal of painting my entire miniature collection by June 2018. Unsurprisingly, this plan fell flat on its face. Through selling my beastmen and dark elf armies, I lost a significant portion of my painted collection in the past few months which really dealt a blow to my 'percentage painted' numbers. However, I did so in order to procure the funds to get an Oldhammer orc and goblin army commission painted. It sucked to lose the painted models but the reality is that I needed the space and I don't play as much Warhammer any more, so better that someone else makes use of the models. Well, here are the numbers as they stand:

So I'd say I'm exactly at two thirds of my collection painted. There is a sliver of light at the end of the tunnel.

I thought it would be nice to show some before and after pics of the commission painted army:

AFTER:

Everything shown here was commission painted. I wanted to get the army painted quickly for Oldhammer USA (in the Jerz) without having to slog through the rank and file troops. I did paint some trolls, a giant and an Orc on gigantic wyvern which I will save for a separate post.

  1. Oh man that is awesome! I wish I could make the Jerz and see it in person...but can’t swing it.

    1. Thanks, but I merely stripped the paint off these models. They were painted by a commission painter since I couldn't fathom painting a greenskins army from scratch

  3. Great looking army, I'm jealous. I also am unable to attend the Jerz. :( Reminds me I started an inventory of figs and then never finished. Arrgh.
