Archaon - Lord of the End Times

Archaon - Lord of The End Times; surely a more iconic villain of the Old World doesn't exist!

It’s difficult to do justice to a model having such a rich history in the Warhammer universe. He is revered as Archaon the Everchosen, underscoring his destined role as the supreme champion of Chaos. Often referred to as The Black King, he commands respect and fear among his followers. As the Champion of Chaos, Archaon embodies the destructive ambitions of the Chaos gods. He leads the Black Host as The King of the Black Host, orchestrating widespread devastation as The Lord of Destruction.

Renowned for his unparalleled combat prowess, he is also called The Great Champion. Strategically brilliant, he earns the title The Lord of War, while his imperial authority over dark forces grants him the name The Dark Emperor. Lastly, as The Harbinger of the End Times, Archaon signifies the impending apocalypse and the rise of Chaos across the Warhammer realms.

I’ve had this model for a few years, and frankly found it intimidating to paint. Archaon rides menacingly on his demonic steed, his sword pointing forward as if to signal that the Empire’s destruction is imminent. I hope you enjoy my interpretation of this classic sculpt!
