Painted bones

Well, for a large model this bag of bones painted up pretty quickly and enjoyably. He will be joining my tomb kings army, which is nearing completion now.

With motivation high from the bone giant, I took the opportunity to finish off 3 ushabti, to bring the unit total to 6. I just love these models, and the concept of living statues is just sick. Until recently, I didn't realize that the term 'ushabti' is a legitimate term in modern Egyptology, used to refer to small and pretty commonly found statuettes that were placed in Egyptian tombs with the deceased, to act as servants of the dead person in the afterlife should they be asked to do manual labor.

Next up, more Tomb Kings. Until then, happy painting!
